When I was growing up, I never had pressure from my parents to choose a certain career path. They didn’t pressure me to become an engineer like my dad, or get into nutrition like my mom. What my dad would always tell me was that he hoped I’d find my passion and follow it! Well, I certainly found my passion – teaching. During my first year as a teacher, I knew I had to create something so that my students could discover and explore their passions just like I had.
Enter – The Passion Project!
This project is so amazing because students can learn about any topic and present their learning in any way! The open-endedness of this project definitely threw my kids off at first. They were so used to following directions, rules, and guidelines. But once they embraced the idea, they became so engaged and started producing amazing things.
Are you passionate about coding? Create a website!
Do you have a great business idea? Research to learn how to write a business plan, and then create one!
Have you always wanted to learn how to make an app? Now’s your chance!
Does this project sound like something your students would enjoy? Well, I have some great news for you! You can get everything you need to start passion projects in your classroom in a no prep digital format! You’ll get two full weeks of slides that take your students through every step of creating their very own passion project.

Passion Project + Gifted Students = Perfection
The passion project is great for all learners, but it’s especially engaging for our Gifted students. Gifted students tend to fully engage in things that align with their interests. So, this project is perfect for them because it gives them the opportunity to explore ANYTHING they want! If a Gifted student could design their dream project, this would be it.
This project is great to differentiate for the Gifted students in your classroom. It will give them something fun and engaging to work on – rather than just giving them more work when they finish something early. And, it’s no prep for you! So all you have to do is assign it to students and then you can focus on everything else on your to-do list!
If you have Gifted students or early finishers in your class, this project is a must!
